Test Fase - For testing purpose only
Provides a chat/instant messaging feature based completely on the Elgg platform.
Start chatting from the profile icon of a user, or by selecting a friend from the friendpicker on the chattoolbar. Sessions will be shown on the chattoolbar.

@mourad.... I guess you use Elgg 1.7 or Elgg 1.7.1. If that's true better try the version of Elggchat that has been fixed.

There is one issue that might result in many error messages and a large log file, but I might have found a way to solve that. Just check the comments over there. I'm not using Elgg 1.7 yet (just testing it) and currently also not use Elggchat at all on my productive site, so I don't know if there are other open issues. But at least the other version seems to work properly for Elgg 1.7.
Jeroen, do you really want the reputation of other people having to maintain your plugins, because they haven't been touched in many-many-many months? You're such a talented programmer and Elgg plugin developer. We all want to see you update these plugins, like this one. It's one of the best.

@RPG heyy what man... Yakiv is just bothered about Jeroen and his reputation as a coder.... if you went back to the comments... you can see how much they need this plugin... I know not all of them are willing to pay for it though :P

We all appreciate it as free. jaxcatz is right. I am concerned about Jeroen's reputation. I don't want to see all of his plugins being taken over because he isn't regularly updating them. Jeroen's plugins are the best.
I think if Jeroen was updating the plugins at least once a month or once every 60 days, then this kind of take-over thing wouldn't happen.

i have a problem with this plugin . i can enable it and appear toolbar.But no friends in toolbar chat while a lot of friends online.

Hi guys, after installation when I try to invite a user from the friends list->user profile I get this error in my firefox error console.

what to do ?
A website called, Sofamous, had their chat where you can either talk to everyone on the site, your friends, people following you, by country or ALL and it looked almost exactly like facebook chat.
As well had a media player that would play as you surfed the site. on the other site just by pressing play.. this is their current version, it changed a bit bit I would love to see something siilar

Hi Djsupport, Thanks for that, however as this is going to be a free site for kids (with no ads) I'm trying to build it for free......... My wife doesn't even like the $45 per year I spend on the hosting! :embarassed:

I've got the other chat plugin working on my site but this one looks a bit slicker.
