Release Notes
HOW IT LOOKS:
You can view this plugin in action on elgg.vazco.eu.
[ This plugin was being debugged for 2 months. It was tested and is being used on a few live sites. ]
After enabling the plugin you will see points and ranks being displayed for each user below their profile icon:
as well as on the user listings:
Those points and ranks represent the number of points user got for his activity on your site. You can set how many points user gets (or looses) for certain actions. You can also set how many points user has to get to go higher in ranks, and what the name of the rank is.
There's also an action available from the user's submenu. Admin can add or remove points for a given user thanks to this action:
There's also a history of points, showing what user got his points for and showing a sum of user's karma funds.
FULL VERSION:
This is a demo version of the plugin. In demo version, users have only two ranks - Regular (for 0 points) and Rookie (for 150 points). You can view description and buy the full version of this plugin on this page.
There are also a commercial extensions available:
- gift shop (users get karma funds when getting karma points, and can spend them on giving gifts to other users)
- karma-based access rights (it's being tested, soon to be released)
INSTALLATION:
- copy to mod folder and enable
- run the "Update user points" from the plugin settings*
- in case any problems occur, move the plugin to the bottom of the plugin list
- note - karma plugin will start adding points for action after installation. This means that after installing the plugin everyone will have 0 points.
Probably soon in development:
- an icon on user's profile, symbolizing his rank

Will it be easily possible to make additional reward/penalty settings for actions in other plugins?
@Tony yes, it's very easy to assign points for other actions. THe plugin is modular and obiect-oriented, it's quite easy to use and extend.
After installing this plugin my administration tools page looses its css, and the page look horrible.
The plugin is at the bottom, and I diabled my theme, I do have modified profile fields could this be the issue? or is there any other plugins you might be aware of that conflict??
I welcomed the chance to test this plugin as I thought the concept would fit in well with my site, so if you have any ideas of what I could try let me know.
@Kiwi_Chris please try disabling the modified profile fields and try if the plugin works well then. Also, what language do you use on your site? This problem may appear with some encodings with the demo version of the plugin.
Tried Disabling all plugins including the theme and returned to default profile fields, what happens when you try to enable it code appears at the top, when going to profile page only profile picture appears Main page of site still works.
This is working with 1.6 and I also tried it with 1.5
So for some reason I can not make it to work, all other plugins I have added are working just fine.

I am also losing my CSS on the Tools administration page under 1.6. I do not have any Vazco plugin installed and I see this problem even when I just reorder the plugins, not activate them.
I suspect that you *may* be seeing a 1.6 bug unrelated to this plugin.

I get this error when i send a gift to a user.
Function name must be a string in /var/www/html/test/engine/lib/notifcation.php line 117
Then the Karma points does not deduct, but the gift was send to the user.
any idea how to fix it?

Matrix, this is probably notification plugin error - you probably have a customized version of this plugin. Try disabling it and see if it helps.

What i did is I disabled notifcations plugin and try.
Tried to disabled the bottom_bar plugin also.
But the points are now working its fine. (its deducting now)
I also tried disabling the ff: plugins and still same error:
