I am testing the vazco_mainpage free version. This seems to be what I need, while i am not writing code.
What about the "latest pics"? It is not working. Is that why I have the free version or?

The tidypics is not working in this version, since there was an update of tidypics plugin. It works in full version, which is regularily updated. We will also update the free version soon.

Hi Mike, Great plugin... I have the full version but am using Prateek's Videolist now instead of Izap as it is very lightweight in comparrison...   Apart from one small thing... Version 1.5  I used before was fine, apart from poor formatting in the Group Video Widget...so I upgraded to 2.1 and when I activate the latest version in my 1.6.2 site my Vazco_mainpage looses its css entirely... any ideas please?   

ps... a Videolist widget for the Mainpage would be cool

Mark, please try turning off caching and saving the widget settings.  If this won't help, you can send me your login details and I'll look into your site. The videolist plugin is not very popular, that's why we don't plan to include the videolist widget into the plugin in close future. We can however include it as a custom development.

Any prediction on when tidypics will be supported in the free version?     This plugin looks like what we need for our tiny nonprofit's site but have zero money  right now. 

Have the plugin installed.  Iti s great to have such a great plugtin work out of the box without any issues - thank you.    Is it possible to get an RSS of the "Latest Activity" feed that is the public activity from the riverdashboard?   I can put it on my main elgg page but want to push the RSS feed out on to a different page to generate interes on what is happening on the site.  Would greatly appreciate knowning how to do that.

@vazco: thanks but the equivalent for our site doesn't work - says i need to be logged in.   any ideas?  if the main page has the public activity, is there a mechanism to get an RSS feed of just the public activity?  Do i have something set up or installed wrong?  using 1.7.1

jmwilker, you would have to rebuild the dashboard to appear to logged out members - then it would show the public activity posts. You may also have to install the riverdashboard plugin.

@vazco.  Not sure what rebuild the dashboard means - sorry for the noob questions.   Is this an edit on the elgg site admin  or a change of tool settings or a php file edit?   Is there an example of what this takes?

jmwilker - by rebuilding the dashboard I ment you would have to modify the dashboard page and remove the code that makes it appear for not logged in users. This would require some PHP and Elgg knowledge though, since it can be a moderately complicated task. Unfortunately, there are no examples.

After following all your instructions, enabling the plugin and saving all widgets I would like to display on the main page I get only the following on the home page:

Shu, this is the first time such problem is reported. Please check wether you don't have javascript errors on your page. What version of Elgg are you using? Do you use GPL or commercial version of the plugin?

I'm using the free version of the plugin and have found that the izap videos widget does not load the preview images.. it stick on the rotating 'loading' icon.

any idea why this is?

Tunis, izap_videos was updated some time ago, and mechanism of displaying widgets was rebuilt. The izap_videos widget was updated in commercial version, I'm not sure wether it was updated in the GPL version. If it was, you can check for javascript bugs on your page - javascript error would give the same effect.

I looked in the javascript error list, I didn't see any that specifically look connected to the izap videos widget.

also I'm finding that the tidypics widget does not display at all.. and neither does the bookmark widget..

The bookmark widget issue may be because I have installed an updated version of the bookmark plugin.. but there is only one tidypics.. any ideas?

Tunis, the tidypics plugin was updated some time ago as well. We upgraded the paid version of vazco_mainpage, although GPL version was still not upgraded to the new Tidypics.

when i use the free version, i see everything in one column. please help. my theme is 'Theme_Simple bluewhite'. and i have added the pluggin at the bottom of tool administration page....

guy1nj, please try disabling your theme, as it's probably influencing plugin's display
