Simple Neutral Theme v1.0

Release Notes

This simple neutral theme is a stripped back default theme. It has a horizontal menu bar with links to the main sections.

The rounded boxes use the css3 border radius method - so will currently only be visible in webkit and mozilla-based browsers. (ie. Internet Explorer and Opera will have square corners).

Requirements: Elgg v1.1

Once installed to your /mod directory, go to Tool Administration, use the new up/down/top/bottom function to move the theme to the bottom of the plugin list (so that it loads last).

It contains skins for all the plugins in the elgg v1.1 full package.

  • When activating themes, make sure to move them to the bottom of the plugin list, and do a hard-refresh (clear caches) to force the new styles/pageshells/page elements etc to load.

  • I just installed Elgg. I can't get any of the themes to work. I copy to the mod dir, clear cache, enable, refresh and nothing changes. Is there some small thing I am not doing?

  • Hi,
    I am new to elgg and just installed this them.  When I enabled it in the tool admistration area I got two messages, one said it was enabled sucessfully and the other said that it is a misconfigured plugin.  Any ideas on what I am doing wrong and how to fix this?  Thank you!

  • @antifmradio I found all previous versions of elgg in svn - see the releases directory. When you upgraded to v1.2 did you follow all the instructions in INSTALL.txt and UPGRADE.txt in the v1.2 package? Most importantly did you run upgrade.php?

    I have upgraded several live production sites from 1.1 to 1.2 with no issues folowing these instructions. I'm not sure if you can even downgrade to 1.1 once the DB has been upgraded to 1.2. Plus 1.1 has several security holes - so I wouldn't advise running it on a production site.

  • You did a really good job at making a rounded corner design not look boring. I have the hardest time trying to make it look interesting because the rounded corner repeats so much it monopilizes the design. But you balanced yours really well. I definitely am taking notes!1

  • Pete,

    I keen to display the top 10 blog events on the home page. When tried with

    <?php

              //set_context('search');
             $blogcontext = list_entities('object','blog',0,10,false);
             echo $blogcontext;
              ?>

    It displays the other objects as well like Profile, Friends, Friends Of etc. How to get rid of the same? How can I only get the blog header, blog text and who has posted the blog information?

    Any guiding link would be really appreciable?

    With Thanks!

  • Same in here !

    A layout problem with the menu !

    Anyone ?

    Thanks

  • Pete,

    Any idea, where one can change the LHS navigation links? I need to modify 'Files' to 'Photo'. For example, 'Your File' should change to 'Your Photo'.

    I modified the language file of 'files' plugin but changes are not reflecting on the web pages. Am I missing something?

    With Thanks!

  • Hi,

    thank you for the great theme!

    I wonder but nowhere founded information how to turn on menu highlighting. Problem is that if you click menu item (ex. Groups), after page opening menu item is not active. Usually it shoud be active.

    As I understand, I should change this code in topbar_tools.php ? :

    <ul class="topbardropdownmenu">
          <?php
                foreach($alphamenu as $item) {
                    echo "<li><a href=\"{$item->value}\">" . $item->name . "</a></li>";
                }
         ?>
    </ul>

    Maybe someone can help with this?

    best regards,
