  • Hi,

How can I put this on custom_index?

    Thanks

  • It would be a great thing if the feed content is (title, excerpts.. etc) can be contained in search. I'm looking into that.

  • Great plugin!  This works wonderfully well with Yahoo Pipes.  http://pipes.yahoo.com.  Basically a nice feed aggregator with filtering capabilities.

    Thanks!

  • Cash stated that the use of this plugin is so that someone can include their blog content in their profile.  I'm 100% positive that Cash is aware of this but I'll put it out there for those of us who don't catch on to the obvious very well (I've included myself in this group!).

There are other possibilities for this plugin.  @GeorgeB figured out how to put it in custom index.  Perhaps he can share that information with the community if he hasn't already.

What we're doing is including it as a default widget on everyone's dashboard and presetting it to reference a Yahoo Pipe that we've populated with multiple RSS feeds that are specific to our industry.  We have other Yahoo Pipe configurations that have RSS feeds for more specific niches within our industry and publish those feeds for people who would like to include them in an additional widget in either their dashboard or profile page.

    So TWO thumbs up!

    Just wanted to clarify!

  • Hi everyone, and before anything would like to say thanks Cash for your work and support,

Im installing this plugin in elgg 1.8.3, everything looks good, not errors. but when i try to add aURL for feeds, always says (Cannot find feed. Check the feed url), the ones i tried for testing:  http://rss.cnn.com/rss/edition_world.rss , feed://images.apple.com/main/rss/hotnews/hotnews.rss, \  . I also check the proxy settings u talk about in the readme file.

    but nothing :(

    Any help or advice?

    Thanks

  • Thanks Cash for this plugin, I never had any problem to install or use-it on elgg, current and previous versions.

I wonder if it is possible to add an rss feed reader to a group. I have a "security group" and want people subscribed to this group to view security advisories from a given feed on the group "dashboard", Have security advisories displayed on the group profile. Is this possible ? Can I add one or more simplepie rss instances to a group ?

    TIA

    Fathi Ben Nasr.

  • Of course without hacking any elgg core module.

  • Can i fetch images along with the rss contents using this plugin? How can i do it?

  • Thanks to you Cash.

I create a JukeBox based on your plugin ;o)

  • This plugin posts on users profile.

But if u need to post into pages or blogs (of user or group), you may use the RSS Import by Matt Beckett

Maybe a pugin which does both (modifiable in the admin settings) would be great.
