  • Thanks for the plugin, i will test it out later

  • Hi there..where can we see this working in the system

  • just see the html code (ctr+u) and search this

    "<meta name="keywords" content

    here is all keywords makeed by my plugin

  • still do not know.

    When 1.5 is stable, I will try

  • Bump bump bump, for real, this needs to be in the Elgg Core, meta tags such as keywords :(

  • How's about I install it and give it a whirl to see? Any of us know how I would check though it's actual doing what it's supposed to do once I have it installed, or any tests I could run maybe.

  • Ok installed this, installed with no red top bar messages during, enabled again fine in Tools Admin so great news up to here and I'm running elgg 1.5 for those who wondered / asked above.

    However, I am a little perplexed now it's installed, what this plugin is actually supposed to do or how it's different from core elgg if one didn't have this plugin installed?

  • view the page of a blog post and see if any of the tags from that page are included in the header section.Metatags are probably the best form of S.E.O optimization. annd if im not mistaken this plugin will take the tags from an elgg page and include it in the header.

    I cant upload files via ftp at the moment. when i can i will give it a spin as well and let you guys know.

    The main difference I see in the 2 variants above andin the 2nd latter one towards the bottom of that code is the following line;

    <meta name="keywords" content="Test, blog, " />

  • thanks rob ... it seems like it is working ... as long as its in the head .. it should get picked up by google ... stil no ftp for me to test it...

    although i wonder why it is coming under the autocomplete plugin.

  • agh!!!!  I don't know what I'm doing - I'm a newbie here.  But I downloaded the file and moved it to my tools and enabled it 'successfully'.  However I look at the page source and I don't see any AUTOCOMPLETE PLUGIN.  Is it because I'm signed in?

    Thanks,

  • Keyword meta tag won't get picked up by Google, since Google doesn't use keywords. But it will get picked up by all the other search engines out there, so thank you for this plugin!

  • I noticed this plugin doesn't use Tag inputs? I have a tag cloud on my home page but the meta keywords don't get content by any of those :(   But it does get keywords from profile page such as interest and location.  Any ideas why the tag cloud wouldn't feed the keywords?

  • excellent plugin, works great with elgg1.5  working on trying to get it to pull site wide tags instead of just tags loaded on the page. I'm a noob tho so...... :-D

  • I checked out my site using Google Webmaster tools and they stated I needed some metatags. Not sure if it will help or not.

    After looking at the blogs and the code, found out that the meta tag information is filled in my the tags. So, make sure when you write anything to include something in the tags. Otherwise, the meta tag won't get filled.

    Thanks for the plugin!

  • has any tested this on Elgg 1.6.1?

  • Does this work with elgg 1.7?

  • It is working on elgg 1.7.4 (seathe theme).

    Thanks!

  • I've implemented this on Elgg 1.7 but have an issue picking up keywords when using the "forms" plugin along with "flexprofile". After implementing a "Profile Form" and filling in the corresponding data when viewing the page source there is nothing populated in the keyword field. If I disable "forms" and "flexprofile" and set it back to the default profile and populate it will work.

    Also, when viewing the page source of a blog, it fills the metaname keywords section with whatever is populated in the "Tags" section of the blog, but nothing from the actual body of the "Blog". Is this normal functionality?

    I really like this plugin as it allows us to define different keywords based on content. Much better than having the same keywords on every page of your site. I was wondering if it could be edited to do the same thing with the metaname description for each page?

    Thanks
