In start.php file, in strings with register_action. Just change second parametr from false to true.
With Elgg 1.7.4 I seem to be unable to use this plugin; while enabled, all login attempts lead to "Sorry, you can perfom this action while you are disconnected."
It's a great idea to combine the siteaccess plug-in and log-in by email plug-in
@gravity
read through earlier comments, a fix is provided there.
Pedro will obviously update to the next version when the time is right.
Blessings :)
I installed the plugin and am getting the error: "Sorry, you cannot perform this action while logged out."
The error occurs when I try to access by email or username. This error is known?
Thanks,
Alexandre
I also got the message "Sorry, you can't perform this action while logged out.". So, you get locked out of your own site. this happened in 1.7.10. I had to remove the plugin and run upgrade.php to get back in to my site. Is there a solution to this problem?
I fixed the problem by switching everything to true in register_action like suggested at the very top of the page.
Wondering if this works in 1.8...

@webskills - I don't think you're supposed to use the community plugin repo to advertise for paid plugins that are hosted elsewhere. I'm sure that must violate the terms and conditions.
@matt i think that's a bot and in 1.8 you can login by email
In 1.8 you can login by Email, but the concern is to Login by Email ONLY. The username fields gets erased, no more problems with 2-Byte Chars. It looks exactly like the Facebook Login and its on 1.8. Works also with uservalidationbyemail. ;)
You're still in violation of the community TOS by advertising it here
