Oh, sweet! Thank you! ...Does this work with Elgg 1.6.1 and 1.7a? I don't see a correlating Elgg version that this plugin applies to.
Hello @Yakiv,
Yes, it works with 1.6.1 and 1.7. Try it out and let me know your comments! ;)
Cool! I will! Thanks!
thanx its work fine
@Pedro Prez Thank You.
Having trouble getting this to work - using 1.6.1 and have tried placing it in different positions on the plugins page. Any ideas?
Thanks
Sadly I too can't seem to get it to work.... sigh :-(
great plug-in, thank you
Thanks for this! Awsome
Buen trabajo. Gracias
I think this plugin conflicts with the site access plugin - any ideas or plans on integrating the two or on fixing the conflict?
Very nice, perfect function in elgg 1.6
Pedro, I am not able to login with my email address? Any idea anyone?
Viral - are you using Site Access with this plugin because the two don't work together and site access seems to override login by email. When I disable site access then login by email works great but when both are enabled site access stops login by email working - I think this is because both plugins alter the login.php file?
work great on 1.7
So far I see it working on my local server with 1.7. Great work!
Great plugin but I am using this on 1.7.1 and the password reset issue seems to remain. The link sent to a user requesting a password reset generates a 'Form is missing __token or __ts fields' error. The Elgg documentation indicates this is a problem with security tokens but I am unable to locate the correct place to fix this as there are no form posts in the mod. If I disable the plugin, password reset on the site works fine ... just not with the users e-mail address. :-(
Any ideas?
Hello Rascal,
Please try to comment line 61 in the file /elgg1.7.1/mod/loginbyemail/start.php and in the next line put the following line of code.
$link = $CONFIG->site->url . "pg/resetpassword?u=$user_guid&c=$code";
If everythings is ok then I will update the plugin. Would you let me know?
Regarda and thanks for your comment ;)
Hi Pedro, thanks for the response. I just tried applying your fix and it works like a charm! Great work. I think this will drop my user support requests by 90%. Definitely update the plugin and thanks for contributing it to the community. Its my #1 plugin...
Hey,
I just installed this and it looks like it loaded ok but doesn't work properly on my system. I am having trouble with ELGG sending email from my dev system (works on live...) so I am testing with an Admin account - are there any issues with the admin user? Anything I can test to validate this?
Thanks, this plugin is really important for our site!
Thanks, grt work..
Hi, nice stuff, but do you know if it's possible to completely override username from the system ?
I mean :
- remove from registration form
- replace username by display name on the site pages....
The plugin makes the username useless in my pov :-)
netking17, the username is used in several human-friendly URLS. So it is still required by Elgg.
The flexreg plugin (one of my form and related plugins) provides an option to remove the username from the registration form and have it automatically generated from the display name. Combined with the login by email plugin, this makes everything simpler.
Hi Pedro,
You are registering the action 'usersettings/save' and then saving email in 'actions/email/save.php'. I can see the only difference between your file and core 'email/save.php' is that you are checking 'allow_multiple_emails' for a user. Right? Is there any other difference?
chaggs
after i have enabled this plugin i can not login again to my elgg site ...
i get the message " We are Sorry, you can perfom this action while you are disconnected."
Can you help me ??
