What you can do to help:
A simple quotes widget. I used code from Niraj Kaushal's Inspirational Quotes plugin, as well as: https://github.com/orvalho/Random_quote_generator
Why not just use the plugin mentioned? Because I wanted to practice making an Elgg plugin, plus, I wanted to use code I was already using elsewhere on my site, and I like how all the quotes are stored in a simple text file.
To add quotes, open the quotes.txt file using ftp or your favorite directory browsing / file editing tool. Place one quote and author name per line. To find quotes.txt, go into the plugin's folder, then views > default > widgets > quotes.
