@ Jeroen Dalsem ,Thanks for sharing! This morning I also started working on an Elgg Avatar Profile Picture plugin  for Elgg  similar to current Facebook Profile  Filter. Here is an example of how Elgg avatar processed by Elgg by the plugin I just started developing this morning! I think the Elgg users will no-longer  need to have Facebook API App app_id and app_secret numbers from Facebook App in order to Show their support to various activities around the world like for example paris attack, independence day  and many more by changing their profile picture to their country of birth's flag and share it around the world by using your Avatar Service plugin and Elgg profile avatar filter that I am developing just like Facebook profile filter. I think your Avatar Service plugin will work well with the one I just started this morning to help Elgg users share their unique moments with their beloved ones.
