Here are ideas to extend this Event Calendar plug in:
* Allow Administrators to add custom fields for events on their site, such as: who, what, where, why, how to prepare for the event, after action review and lessons learned, next steps, etc.
* Somehow add an option to "connect" each event with an online discussion about the event.
* Allow creator of an event to set the privacy level for who can see the event and who can RSVP for the event.
* An option that requires Administrators to approve events.
@Tom Cal Customization of input fields and also the option of moderating events would require quite some work. I'm afraid I don't have that time at the moment and very likely for quite a long time either. I have to admit that I don't see much need for these features.
I also don't really see a necessity to connect an event entry with a separate discussion, because you could discuss / posting comments to the event directly already.
Restricting access to certain members should already work fine with usage of Elgg's friends collections. You would have to create a suitable friends collection first though. But then you would be able to select this collection to define the access for the event and restrict it to the members of the corresponding collection.
Thanks for the feedback and insights, much appreciated!
one idea - to choose when the week starts - sunday or monday
