the instructions say to unzip folder, in the mod folder?? then move the 2 folders the elgg root.... meaning the main elgg folder.....is that correct??

Do we over ride the language and mod folders in the root??

@w2f : no, the zip file contains 2 folders "languages" and "mod". They contains only the language files for the plugins and the generic language file, so you need to transfer the 2 folders to your Elgg root, only the language files in "language" and "mod" will be uptated.

however you need to remove the lines from 1036 to 1039 in the file languages/fr.php

cause it bugs when the server send the new password to users, after a password reset, the recieved mail is empty

In case you haven't been following the github issues, we're trying to consolidate translation efforts on Transifex.com. This will allow us to start bundling translations with releases of Elgg core itself, greatly reducing the work needed for people to get access to the translations, and greatly increasing the audience exposed to Elgg and your translation work.

I'd be happy to make sure you guys get the access rights you need to officially manage the French translations.

The caveats are simply that you need to be willing to release the content under MIT/GPLv2 dual license.
