this was the 1st video plugin i tried with elgg way back in 1.7..
presently i am using videolist with 3rd party videos only.
is there a demo for kaltura that shows, for example, how onsite videos via kaltura might integrate in with videolist? or indeed any kind of elgg based demo?

This plugin is a standalone version that I've been developing for a couple years. It's intended as a lightweight alternative to the original Elgg Kaltura plugin I linked above (which I am not affiliated with). I'm familiar with the videolist plugin you mentioned, but this plugin doesn't intergrate with it in any way.

so videolist and kaltura would need to run side by side to include on-server and off-server video sources.. perhaps one day we will see the two combined into one big list.

Cannot see much at thinkspot to whet my appetite.... but still very interested to incorporate kaltura into my "MediaWall" plugin to manage *all media files on elgg via one common interface and file manager for the mime types !

Looks good but Kaltura costs 500 bucks a month.

Hello, Kaltura's hosted service is not free, but they do have a community edition: http://www.kaltura.org/project/community_edition_video_platform

I have not tested this plugin with the CE, but with some tweaking, it could probably work!

Is simple kaltura plugin compatible with Release - 1.8.18, Version - 2014110100 of Elgg? i was installed it but the submit button is all time disabled, so i cant send or upload video !!!

Testing this out for Rigging Dojo - Videos upload to Kaltura, but the save action just hangs with the progress bar at 100% so no elgg entities are created...

When will the upgrade for elgg 1.9?
