Where can i host elgg for free? Please reply @anyone
Hi, found a possible bug, but with this turned on, and a new user registers to my elgg, the default widgets are not appearing, and after registration, there is a Fatal Exception Error. I know this because this was the last plugin I installed, then over night I noticed new registrations were missing widgets, then I tried to register myself at my site, and seen the error, so I disabled this plugin, and things were back to normal again with no registration error... Either this plugin does not like one of my other plugins installed, or something else, not sure...
very good plugin (have not tried registering to test for problem @itskim is reporting)
Question:
What is "Reset a user's notifications" and "Install" button?
Reset user notifications resets user's notifications to default?
Install resets all users notifications?
What about 3rd party plugins ( Videolist for example) will this plugin stil send notification for those plugins or just ones defined in the plugin code?
Thanks.
What a great plugin but when registering I get Fatal error Exception #1363816747
Log file records this:
2013/03/20 17:52:26 [error] 17162#0: *262 FastCGI sent in stderr: "PHP message: Exception #1363816346: exception 'IOException' with message 'Unable to save new object's base entity information!' in /home/domains/dev1pow.com/public/engine/classes/ElggEntity.php:1272
Anyone has same problem? or knows how to address it?
Thanks.
Install creates a notification object for all existing users. I'm not sure if executing that step will fix the issues being mentioned. I inherited the code and I'm not totally sure how all of it works. If anybody figures it out, please report back.
This plugin will not override email notifications it doesn't know about, and it's only programmed to know about some of the basic Elgg functionality. You could add additional overrides for other plugins or you can allow those plugins to notify as they would normally.
Dan, thanks for your input.
I'm not sure either if the problem is maybe with "user validation by email" plugin or what. If registration process is tied with "user validation by email" and notifications override does not include notification for it than that could be the problem.
Anyone knows if "user validation by email" is tied with registration process?
Thanks.
Hi, before posting anything here i made sure I was right. when installing Notifications override something goes wrong with User Validation by email. I got this message after registering
Fatal Error.
An unrecoverable error has occurred and has been logged. Contact the site administrator with the following information:
Exception #1407184428.
however the user never gets the validation email but i gets automatically validated on the system.
i hope this info it somehow useful
We don't do 'user validation by email,' so the plugin may be lacking in that area.
Hello,
I've got another little issue with this excellent plugin. For some reason, if one people put a comment a discussion into a group, all members of the group receive an email notification, not only the owner of the discussion ! That's annoying people, I would like to fix this...
Thanks
This plugin respects the same notification settings that is built into elgg. Even if you weren't using notifications-override, users would still be notified. For instance, you can go to https://community.elgg.org/notifications/group/ to edit how you are notified about groups on the community elgg site. Similarly, you would go to https://<yoursite>/notifications/group/ to edit your user notification settings.
Thanks Dan, I will check this.
Cheers
