Version 1.1.2 of Social Connect offers a new setting to enable/disable social integration on the login page and register page. You can now do this with a simple check box, no coding necessary.

Also, some users who run Elgg under HTTPS with self-signed certificates pointed out that Facebook does not work under this configuration. A small change in HybridAuth is needed for the provider to work. This change is now provided as an option (the Facebook SSL hack), but I was not able to test it. If anyone has this set-up and this problem, please try the option and tell me whether it works. If your Social Connect plugin works with Facebook as it is, please DO NOT enable this option.

This works good, I was able to do Twitter, Yahoo, but Google+ is giving me some issues. I sent you a private message about it.

Anyone out there been able to get this to work with google+ api? I have followed instructions and no success.

I have just installed the latest plugin on latest Elgg but I don't see any Settings options on the Admin concole. Am I missing something? Sorry, have no clue of either Elgg or the plugin - I am just following the installation instructions.

Am gonna wait till Google+ is reported resolved or working by someone. Till then I am going to stick to standard and individual plugins for each. Currently have for Twitter and Facebook.

It works fine on my installation. I'm afraid you have to be much more specific than "it does not work" if you need some help. Also, apologies for the delay in getting back... I am very busy these days, so will take a little while to respond unfortunately...

I'm only using Facebook connect. If a user logs in via Facebook, the topbar upper left corner looks weird, the icons overlap. After the user chooses an avatar, the topbar looks OK again but without the profile icon visible in the top bar, first time users can't even access their profile directly to edit the avatar. 

It seems complicated to get the google+ api to work with the directions/installation instructions given. I have deleted my google+ api project and awaiting some help from Federico on what exactly needs to be done step-by-step for google+ the others I was able to figure out but google+ seems to be a headache.

New users who join via social connect get no avatar at all, not even the default grey avatar, so the icons look weird on the left of the topbar.

Hello. Now i'm using your facebook connect plugin to enter to my site, but i'm from Russia and Vkontakte.ru more popular social network in my country. Can you develop the "vkontakte connect" for me? Or add a oppurtinity to your plugin to login with vkontakte.ru?

When people make an account via Facebook, the profile picture doesn't get copied, looking into the code it would seem Facebook uses a redirect which apparently doesn't seem to get resolved by Elgg. Any ideas on how to fix this?

I just installed it, and when I go to the setting page (and want to save), it complains with an error: apiadmin:no_version_check

How to fix this? Thanks.

Can I remove the "Powered by HybridAuth", I understand your terms but it just doens't fill right in my elgg :S

Hi Tiago, I know it's annoying, but as a free product the notice should be left in place.

Can't get this (or other similar plugins) to work with anything. Is some other plugin required? I installed the Enhanced API but doesn't soome to make a difference. 

All the requirements are OK according to the test included but in the PHP.ini there is:

";extension=php_curl.dll"

which is probably supposed to be uncommented to "extension=php_curl.dll" ?

can't find nothing similar for JSON but the test says it is installed.

Been tweaking to get this to work for months... What could I be missing?

Wohoo! Now at least the Gmail connection is working. I guess the biggest problem was that my server was blocking all outgoing connections.

I have logging set to debug -- but, of course, this particular function isn't going to show up there.
