Adding a link in the navigation bar that isn't in the elgg folder: Revision

I am having an issue with Elgg. I would love to link to other sites in the navigation bar I.E rottentomatoes.com, but I can't. Elgg always defaults the beginning URL to where elgg is installed. I am not sure if this is a problem with custom index or a problem with elgg. Any ideas?
