I was using IE 8. When I updated I did remove the folder first and I clicked the 'update' when activating the new one, flushed the caches, and such. Yes...I uploaded 5 photos with the flash uploader and all gave me the red X (not the ?). I... view reply

Postion of the plugin in the plugin list shouldn't matter much but the more it is towards the bottom the better as it will have a higher priority then and it's less likely that other plugins interfere. When you updated Tidypics did you remove the... view reply

With "most recent" Tidypics you mean which version exactly? The "latest version" from http://community.elgg.org/plugins/385077/1.8.0%20rc1/tidypics-photo-gallery-plugin will fail to work in Elgg 1.8.15 onwards. You won't be able to upload images to... view reply

  confirmed failure: I manually created the folder associated to the new album I've just created (in my case flder 976 under image under user 33 under day 12 under month 11 under year 2013 under elgg_data) and guess what, I uploaded a photo in this album and it worked, meaning the photo uplaoded and is displayed correctly.
  
  Outcome: on my sistem (hosted by godaddy) the plugin fails to create the folder when a new album is created. How could I fix this? Where are the code lines located?

  Then you are not using the latest version of Tidypics or you have not updated cleanly to the latest version. The problem with creating the album folder within the data directory is exactly the reason why Tidypics rc1 does NOT work anymore on Elgg 1.8.15 and 1.8.16.
  Use http://community.elgg.org/plugins/1194049/1.8.1beta11/elgg-18-tidypics instead. On upgrading disable Tidypics on your site, delete the tidypics folder in mod completely. Then copy the new version on the server and enable it again. Should it still not work then and the folder fails to be created the permissions and/or owner and/or group of your data directory are set wrong.

@aadhar: downgrading to Elgg 1.8.14 won't help you in the long run. Waiting for a fix in Elgg 1.8.16 won't help you either as there is no bug in Elgg core anymore. There was a bug in Elgg core that has been fixed in Elgg 1.8.15. Tidypics only worked... view reply

We have the same problem with the latest upgrade for ELGG 1.8.15: pictures of photo albums do not show up anymore, users cannot get their uploaded images displayed. So I guess we have to wait for the next upgrade? We rolled back to a previous... view reply
