There are risks though: someone with admin access to your site (or someone hacking an admin account) could completly mess up your site with this plugin installed.
Like iionly It is very risky. The tool is really awesome, you can use it, at your own risk of course.

Is there another way without using the tool?
Why cant you use FTP? If you want to upload it through a web interface, you have to make the mod directory writable and its a major security issue.
