Hello,
I’m a relatively new user so please bear with me.
After uploading the deleting a plugin yesterday I am now unable to access the /admin console. I received a http 500 error. Otherwise the site is functioning properly, any help would be greatly appreciated. I am running elgg 1.8.2

You must log in to post replies.Does the rest of the site work? If so, try going to yoursite.com/upgrade.php
If that doesn't work, check you PHP or Apache logs to see what the exact error is and post it here.
thank you for replying, yes the site is working otherwise. the upgrade link doesnt do anything aside from display an elgg logo for a few seconds.
we are seeing the following error.
[Tue Feb 21 16:47:44 2012] [error] [client 207.237.80.242] script '/var/data/elgg/admin.php' not found or unable to stat
Is /var/data/elgg is the correct document root for your Elgg installation or is that your data dir?
If it's the doc root, admin.php shouldn't be in that location. Can you confirm you're going to yoursite.com/admin and not yoursite.com/admin.php.
Try adding create an empty file called mod/disabled then hit your admin page.
