Is it possible to activate a left sidebar to show ads. I think it must be possible but is there any tutorials?

If you want to do it accross the entire site, you will need to modify page/layouts/... to display sidebar-alt by default. You can then extend page/elements/sidebar_alt with your ads content.
Actually I don't know coding. Can you explain which codes on which pages I have to change? I saw some pages "one_column" , "one_sidebar" , "two_column_left_sidebar" and "two_sidebar". Which one will I work on?
all of them, if you want to your ads to be displayed on all pages.
