I cant seem to find a way to moderate new user registration in elgg 1.8 . I am getting problems with spammers registering onto my site and want to check them before they get let on. can anyone suggest a good plugin for this or how it is done in 1.8

sorry meant to add spam throttle version is 1.8.x 1.3
Strange, I'm not getting those errors. I'll update them in a future release.
FYI despite fixing those I still cant see anywhere to change the settings for spam throttle, but that's for your other thread I guess not this one
@mdkberry: are you sure about the versio? There is a 1.8.x version of my plugin.
I think the best solution for you would be to modify uservalidationbyemail plugin. Comment out the code that sends out a notification, and change the language strings, and ta-da you have a moderation plugin.
I remember a "User approve" plugin.
@Ismayil - cunning, I like it, thanks for the idea
@ Ray J - only seen 'user approval' mentioned in discussion pages so far no plugin, if you recall the plugin location let me know, and I will double check your plugin version, thanks
@mdkberry: You owe me a cofee.

@ Ismayil - works perfectly well, I just removed the validation link that gets sent out, and adjusted the text of the email to advise the user to wait 24 hours for processing. thanks for the idea !
@Ismayil - regarding your hype spamfighter I have a minor problem at the moment with it, is there anywhere other than hypejunction.com/trac that we can discuss it?
