Fixed: Elgg 1.8 If username contains dots "." the wire does not understand the user

As my ldap uses dots in the username, when I try to post something like @user.name, the wire only understands the @user part, and does not create the hyperlink to the user.

To fix this problem I only had to change the regular expression from start.php in line 214:

// usernames

$text = preg_replace(

// Next was '/(^|[^\w])@([\w]+)/'

'/(^|[^\w])@([\w.?]+)/',

'$1<a href="' . $CONFIG->wwwroot . 'thewire/owner/$2">@$2</a>',

$text);
