Garbage collector, logrotator and etc

Just wondering if turning off these things is bad? or having them on is good :P?

It seems every friday or so my site crashes from something and i'mm point it to t he garbage collector because it says something about garbage.

What the situation of the database? Do you have a specialist in mysql working on it?

@Seth Strange problem, I have a friend who has been running elgg with those tools enabled with no issues.

Did you do any change to the database before having problems?

When did the problem started? Elgg version?

in admin panel of your host, go to phpmyadmin, select the table hwo has probleme, and look in bottom there is a dropdown options, so select "repair" , or "reparer" in french.
