Signature Footer in Groups etc?

Hi All,
As I want to be targetting a profesional audience with my network once it's developed and launched, is there already a way or the ability to enable a user to create a signature in the footer of their site messages, group discussion posts and any other plugin / system feature that offers the user fellow user interaction?
I understand this may not be needed or wanted at all by hobby sorts of networks etc but for a professional subscription based network, I believe it to be imperative in my honest opinion.

I'd also like to see a plugin that enables custom user signatures :O
this is (was) a rather old thread.. missed my eyes b4. if y'all want to actively post / discuss more **details and design aspects, i might be tempted to code ;-)
It'd be nice Dhrup. Needed or not needed by a user is a totally different debate, but I believe for Elgg promotion, this would be a great add on for those who wants to use it. It will deffinitely pump up Elgg's features.
Moare details.... ;-) gimme detailed (tech) specs... you gotta know my sassy attitude by now.. gimme motivation(s)...

I use custom profile fields to have a field for user signature, and just display it at the bottom of each group discussion post.
also a checkbox can be added to switch displaying others' signatures on or off.

the profile manager custom profile fields is a smart way to go for those that use it.
adding a signature view to the relevant places would be simple for anyone who knows elgg's structure.
