I'm working with both Elgg versions 7 and 8, also I see a bug for IE browser-
Bug: the top menu tab ("more" > drop down menu box) on Elgg within an IE browser is behind the object instead of in front of it? Example: A widget that is at the right-side of the 'front page' and the [more] > dropdown box and the bottom link are cut off.
is there a solution to this problem?

Manfred,
Thanks for the update. After making the fix done by Cash, it works perfectly now :)
I was having some site menu issues with iZAP videos before this fix. Now it is also fixed. I have reenabled iZAP videos again.
Thanks to you and Cash :)
Hey guys thanks for responding to this post.
Thank You, manfred salomon for this solution - and Cash.
This is the best way to learn about Elgg it only took me two years to learn that...
lol
The "more" menu is broken on an iPad as well. Cash's fix will not work as there is no hover on iPad. This is a deal breaker in schools. Haven't looked into it yet - anyone have ideas?
On IE 9, it does not even drop down for me at all. Does the fix correct that too? I also have the issue where it goes behind items in Chrome. Any fix for that?
@Brain - please open a trac ticket and we can discuss there
@Frank - My fix should work for IE 7,8,9 and fix z-index issues. A 1.8.1 beta will likely be released this coming week. Here is where to go to watch progress on releases: http://trac.elgg.org/roadmap
