Status bar showing all the time

Hi Im using elgg 1.7.8 and recently I installed a plugin (NoELab Media Embedy)...then saw it was not working as I thought so removed it.
Now I have the status bar (the one that tells you you are logged in and stuff) enabled all the time, but just as a 'ghost'. White frame with no text but an X and when I click it it closes. But It appears everytime I load a page.
Need your help to find how to enable this!!!! I was almost done with my network and now this :( Stupid me, for not backing up. Please, please someone give me some pointers!!

You must log in to post replies.Try to clear the cache by going to yoursite.org/upgrade.php. If you removed the plugin without disabling it the cache might be confused.
I did run upgrade, in fact I even erased cache from my browser just to be sure :( it is still there
That's very odd. Try creating an empty file "mod/disabled" (no quotes), then run upgrade.php again and see if it still does that. If it does, some other mod is causing the problem.

It seems that my theme started to conflict with other mods. rjcalifornia helped me out with it.
The problem was the order of the plugins.
Glad it is working. How are the images in the contact form coming along?
