I have intalled elgg and am happy with the install. I have installed several plugins and tried a few themes. I really like the layout the way it is right now, except the horridly ugly grey/white color scheme. I've tried changing some of the css.php files, but this doesn't seem to have any effect. How can I change these basic colors without creating my own theme? Any help will be greatly appreciated!

You must log in to post replies. After making the change, run the upgrade script i.e. http://SITE.TLD/upgrade.php
Also, it is recommended not to make changes in teh core and create a new pluigin instead to override the views.
While you're making changes to your site, you should disable the caching. Go to Admin -> Settings -> Advanced and make sure the "Use simple cache" and "Use view filepath cache" are disabled.
Yes, I was making changes to the core, and I thought that might be a bad idea since there is a new version pending, and my ISP is likely to upgrade. Thus, I think I should just sit my lazy butt down and learn how to make a plugin. *sigh*. Thanks, guys!
