Hi, I am all the time trying to install my elgg site to my domain, but still doesn't work.

The installation screen comes, but when I enter the elgg database details (username, password, database name, host, prefix...), then comes a error which says:

"Database settings error

Check your database settings again as Elgg could not connect and access the database."

How come? :( Please, I'm afraid that my web site will never born! :(

Also when I delete the .htaccess file, then it says that I can create one by copying the contents of the box, but the box is blank.

Please help me! :(
