I cant install elgg
I had made sure that ,mod rewrite is enable by reading sample program given at elgg site.It works fine
but I get following error while installing the system
"
Internal Server Error
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.
Please contact the server administrator, webmaster@xxxxx.com and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

Please help me to find out the reason why i cant install the system.

my page show index.php of my htdocs folder when the installation (htdocs/elgg/install.php) redirects me to htdocs/elgg/action/systemsettings/install
anyone know how to fix this??
I had this too.. seems the path doesn't exist..

There is an actions folder and an install.php file in systemsettings but when I enter this URL instead the page can be found but just loads a blank page.

fuad fajri try checking AllowOverride is set to All in the apache httpd.conf file.
I had the same error as you and changing this fixed it.. I've now got ELGG installed properly.
