You must log in to post replies. The best antispam technique is to use your own captcha/algorithm for your site. Even if you use any antispam technique, there is no chance to escape from human spammers, unless you use a content filtering option. But this can affect your normal users too.
ok webgalli but can recaptcha help it looks like an old pugin
There is no good user feedback in the community about any of these plugins. All the developers lack the feedback on their product and finally the community suffers. The users will simply post that "this wont work", "not worked for me" etc, nobody gave any good feedback/information
As far as our inference, even the recaptcha is not usefull, You will get a decrease in spam hit for maximum of 1 week or more. After that everything same. The best is to use a simple/complicated algorithm for your site, but it should be unique. We are in the way of adding unique captchas to all our client sites. We tested our sites with these plugins.
Hope some users will give good feedbacks soon.

There are several plugins that allow moderated registration or registration by invitation only.
That seems the most effective anti-spam approach to me.
@kevin can u suggest some plugins and are the useful for invitation only
With text captcha and 10 custom questions we went down from 20 spam accounts per day to approx. 1 per 3 days (those are results after 2 months of use). The best solution so far is either registration by invitation or a custom algorithm.
We're also working on a solution which has a chance to be 100% effective for the whole community - provided it's not targetted directly by a programmer.
