I've just spent a long time creating a page that I didn't want to save until it was finished. I didn't want an incomplete page to be e-mailed to group members. Unfortunately when I came to save it, the page had timed out, and I lost it. It was important, but I'm finding it hard to get the motivation to rewrite it!
With hindsight, I could have created it offline, and pasted it into the editor, but I didn't think about it.
Is there any way to get round this? A warning that the page is about to expire would be helpful.

You must log in to post replies.I've had this complaint from one member after another on my sites (and had it happen to me too). My only suggestion is: right click/select all, right click/copy and do that every time you are posting anything (do it in the HTML window if you are posting more than text). Then, should the page expire, you can go back and 'paste'.
Try to use ajaxify plugin that will do this for you.
These issues have come up repeatedly with Elgg. They are being taken seriously and have been addressed in 1.8.
