At the request of some users I increased the wire post character limit from 140 to 250. This went off without a hitch but I noticed that the actual post is cut off after 160 characters.
I went ahead for testing purposes and increased the character limit to 500 characters to see if it would change the result and the posts are still cut off after 160 characters. I feel like this should be a simple problem to fix but after the last couple days of sifting through code I am officially at a loss here.
How do I get the wire post content area to properly expand to display all character content?

You must log in to post replies. You should take a look at the wire plugin released by JHU/APL. It has a higher character limit.
If not, do a search for 160 in the wire code: http://docs.elgg.org/wiki/How_do_I_find_the_code_that_does_x%3F
You need to change the character in at least 4 places. If you decide to do it manually, read this thread or this post

Thanks everyone for the quick reply, I figure it was something that simple I overlooked. Problem resolved and I think I'll go see about some glasses now -.-'
