Hi everybody i'm sure you guys have seen this question posted a lot on here but I just can't seem to get it fixed. I've read almost all information on it.
I installed elgg on a local host wamp server [newest wamp edition]
the installation process was ok with no problems. I did not install elgg in any sub directory.
in my home page everything works fine but the "login"
I tried login in for the first time after the installation and it did not work. Nothing show's up it takes me to this page.
"This webpage is not available.
The webpage at https://localhost/action/login might be temporarily down or it may have moved permanently to a new web address.
More information on this error
Below is the original error message
Error 102 (net::ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED): Unknown error."
Any help on this would be really appreciated thanks.

The mod_rewrite in apache is enable I took the # Off.
It's simply not connecting to the action/login folder. the website disconnects when I click the login button.
Ok I fixed it. Here is how it fixed for me incase anybody else has the same problem.
if you installed it on a wamp server. You need do need to enable the Mod_rewrite in apache by taking of the #. But if you have done so also do this.
After that has been done delete your catch from your internet browser. (I used ccleaner)
then delete everything and re download elgg and do a fresh install. the files needed or automatically created so don't mess with any code. Go to your local host and continue the installation process.
on my second fresh install I left the enable HTTP alone I don't know if that's a factor.
It should work.
