How do you embed a pdf file in elgg?

I'm trying to embed pdf files from adode into blogs or pages, but they won't embed. iclicked on the html button and entered this embed code <embed src="FullScreenEmbed.pdf" width="500" height="375">, and i placed the location of the pdf file in but it will not embed.

it's not difficult to embed a pdf in a regular web page, but i'm talking about in the blogs and pages in the elgg system.
