German dates -> calendar

Hello, how I can change in Elgg the Datepicker in German? In the Plugin 'announcements' the calendar is also indicated on English. Is the calendar used in Elgg centrally?

You can edit certain files but it will create a conflict with profile manager. don t lose your time. this is really annoying and many people are waiting for this fix. hope the developers will implement a datapicker in elgg core!!!!!!!!!!!!!
