You must log in to post replies.Hi!
Well, do you mean signing up to your website or to a group? If it is for signing up in your website, please check your Spam folder on your email.
Did you set up the admin account after installing Elgg?
What hosting are you using?

The initial admin account does not need to be activated. So you should be able to login. Elgg uses the bog standard PHP mail() function, so email problems are almost always due to:
a. spam filters
b. server configuration error, or (more rarely)
c. PHP configuration problem.
Not Elgg.
does the sending email works when i am hosting in localhost??
please reply.....when i register it is not sending an email...
@Kirby and Real, If you both are on local host,it wont send emails. You will need some mail clients like Mercury mail. But for testing purpose, yyou can use the email bypass plugin by Cash.
Hi all, its running both on my localhost and hosting. You say you dont need activation for the admin, which was true on my localhost however, on my hosting, it asks that the account to be activated. One quick thing, how would i set up the mailclient on my hosting? could i use that email bypass plugin?
woops, i got it now, thanks for all your help though!
