comet chat is very easy to configure and install, and i mean VERY easy

Comet chat is very heavy resource consuming, so if you plan on using it, be prepared to deal with high CPU and RAM consumption unless going with a separate server or one of the Cometchat server options

Would that be a less power hungry alternative? The site I need this on is running on shared hosting with less than 100 users, but I don't want to push it if I don't have to.

how can you integrate this with elgg webiste ? ie pull the friends and so forth

Hey everyone,

Just to say I am currently trying Arrowchat on my 850+ user Elgg, and it's holding together pretty well.

What's more, they're currently working on integrating 'notifications' to sit in the bottom bar like FB.

So far, I'm dead impressed!
