Events not showing after adding

I am running 1.7.4. I enter title, venue, start date and end date. The title and venue is Principal. The dates are 12/14/2010 - 12/16/2010. Then click submit. I see the system message that event has been added. The event is added as
When: 31 Dec 1969
Venue: Principal
When I click on View All Events, the event is gone. Any ideas of what's going on?
