How can i disable a plugin when i cannot load the site in the browser?
I enable a plugin but now the site cannot be loaded anymore. Can i disable the plugin via ftp?
I also rename the plugin but it didn't help.

You must log in to post replies.You can create an empty file with the name "disable" in the mod folder. This will disable all plugins and you should be able to log in again. Then you can also remove the plugin that caused the issue.
Probably you should add the problematic plugin temporarily again prior creating the "disable" file. I had an issue with a plugin once after a site upgrade and when I just deleted this plugin it made matters worse and I just got a white screen.
I put an empty file with the name "disable" in the mod folder but i can still not load the site.
Sorry, my mistake... it has to be called "disabled"!

Thanks for the tip iionly, I have had this problem before and have had to result screwing with the code of an unruly plugin until it works. I'll add a README.txt in to my mods folder containing the 'disabled' file tip; thanks again.
Hi,
Change the database and login into elgg disable those plugins which you want then logout again change the database settings to default.
It will work i'm sure..
