Administering large elgg sites

Hi,
I'm developing an elgg network for my company that anticipates over 20,000 members. There are several issues I'm concerned with. The available admin tools do not seem robust enough for the kind of issues we expect. I'm sure other large sites have wrestled with this issue. For example, in any large community, one expects to have people who abuse the system. How do large sites handle that?

Can anyone provide any ballpark figures on admin staffing levels. In other words, given a planned network of 5 to 6K members, how many people would it take to administer a site of that size. I'm looking to create an admin plan prior to launching the site. Are there any administrators out there who could share some insight into managing a large active site.
5,000-6,000 users ? FBFKids.Con runs 180,000 users with 1 super-tech and 1 super-admin person 16 hours per day ;-)

That's comforting to know. I'm not sure I want to work 16 hrs a day though.
Can you give me any advice on what kinds of bandwidth numbers to expect (ballpark)?
I'm just trying to understand the scale of the project.
I would appreciate this information also.
