Hi,
We (http://osmose.cegepadistance.ca/) are using elgg as part of a research study into the educational uses of social networking software. We have been trying to understand the structure of our elgg database in order to collect and analyse user data (who did what when, etc - for example: "Student A, logged in, created a message, a page, uploaded a file, commented a blog, etc. Where is that information stored in the database). We need to know what variables link the different tables, so we can make queries.
Thanks a lot in advance for any information.

You must log in to post replies. All of that (and a lot more) is logged in the system_log table. The river table has a more managable, user centric log.
There is some documentation on the Elgg wiki about table structure. See the data model sections. docs.elgg.org
Thank you very very much, Cash. The information was extremely helpful.
