Need custom widget on index / homepage

Hello all,
I need custom widget on my page in index section (homepage). I would do widgets with films, pictures, text with any information to enliven the standard system. Not need plugin ex. custom_page because is underdeveloped with my design :P
Ps. How to remove other custom widgets from the homepage (index) ??

Look at screenshots. Try Blackpod Free or the Juipo Themes.
Also you could try out our theme http://community.elgg.org/pg/plugins/project/566100/developer/rjcalifornia/360-xd-milocker-theme
I do not want to use ready-made. I want to create new Me widget with source code. I need My theme - no other. My is beauty <3 :P
It will take some time and effort to learn but you can read wiki docs http://docs.elgg.org/wiki/Themes and start coding, redesign one of the free themes or hire someone to create one for you.
You can still use custom_index plugin to control what's displayed on your homepage ;-)
To edit the homepage, you would need to code this directory -
/mod/custom_index/views/default/canvas/layouts/new_index.php/
