Custom Email formats

Greetings!
Can anyone tell me how to go about customising the format of emails that are sent out by the system? Is there a plugin to assist in this?
If not then the location of any email templates would be enough.

You must log in to post replies.Emails should all be in the languages/ directory of core or plugins. Search for the strings you want to change. Be careful with string formatting characters (like %s) or you can break the email completely.
