I have upgraded a test site from 1.7.1 to 1.7.2 and it has all gone pretty well so far... I should be in bed, but the excitement of some success has driven me on. HOWEVER... my canvas menu http://community.elgg.org/pg/plugins/uddhavadasa/read/452811/header-menu-and-online-users
Which I use without the online users does not display properly now. Instead of nice little white boxes with icons and text, I get a series of bullet points going down the page with the icons but no boxes or backgrounds.
What has caused this please, and how do I fix it?

Just remove the online users views and you'll be oki ;-)
Hi D,
Note above... "Which I use without the online users...." but it still does not work :-(
might be some code problem / issues.. but i gonna hafta look at actual misbehaving code to figure what broken ;-( email me zipfile of your real code maybe i can spot the bad code ;-X
css style seems to be missing..
i hacked it in here ;-)
my fresh install of 1.7.2 was going well.. now though I have hit a point where the plugin list seems broken again..
I've installed quite a few successfully (20+) but now every new one I attempt to install produces an 'install failed' message.. and when I attempt to disable activated plugins I receive a green 'ok' message but the plugins remain activated..
any idea what I can do to get it all working?
@tunist - there is no 'install failed' message in all of Elgg. Maybe a bad plugin?
@cash - Indeed, the message is 'xxx is a misconfigured plugin. It has been disabled. Please search the Elgg wiki for possible causes'..
this occurs with any new plugin I attempt to install (at least of the 4 I have tried) - the last one was 'event calendar'.
When I attempt to disable other plugins they still produce green 'ok' messages but are not actually disabled.
Do 1.7.1 templates work perfectly with 1.7.2 ...?
@tunist:
Do you have the plugin_manager plugin installed by any chance? If yes, you need to confirm any changes in the plugin enable/disable settings by a click on the save button at the top of the plugin list. Otherwise the plugins won't get enabled or disabled.
Are you sure that the misconfigured error message is not because there really IS a misconfigured plugin, i.e. not a new plugin you are trying to add but a plugin already installed? If start.php and manifest.xml are not in the plugin main directory (mod/plugin_directory) there's something wrong. Maybe you should check all plugins before you try to add any additional.
I've not done the following myself, but I believe you can for a plugin to get disabled by creating a file named "disabled" in the plugin directory, just an empty file, only the file name is important.
