Blogging using Windows Live Writer
Hi, I'm trying to configure Windows Live Writer Beta to post to my Elgg blog. I found this helpful article http://elgg.ou.nl/veg/weblog/564.html but where it refers to adding the path to /mod/rpc/RPC2.php I couldn't find this directory or file in my installation of Elgg 1.7.1.
Instead, I tried pointing Live Writer to the different xml-rpc.php files in the Elgg installation but that didn't work. I also tried but couldn't find an RPC plugin from the plugin repository.
Can someone tell me how Live Writer can use the xml-rpc function correctly in Elgg 1.7.1? Thank you.
P.S. Live Writer does support metweblog-based blogs, if that helps any.

You must log in to post replies.Those instructions are for Elgg 0.9. Elgg was rewritten with version 1.0. There is a metaweblog plugin here: http://code.elgg.org/plugins/branches/1.7/metaweblog/

I downloaded, installed, and enabled metaweblog and went through the steps in the previous link again while pointing to the metaweblog.php file and changing the blog type to "Metaweblog API".
Unfortunately, I still get an "Invalid Server Response" error. Any idea what the reason could be or how to get this working?
