Upgraded to 1.7.1 now won't recognize me as an admin

Hi there,

I upgraded to Elgg. 1.7.1 from 1.6 by following instructions in this file:

I disabled all the plugins (the 'core' ones?? which one is that?)

Now it doesn't recognize admin at all, i have to log in from some place else, and that person had admin permissions, but not after the upgrade.

i need to get back in to enable plugins, but without admin permissions, i can't seem to do it.

anyone know where to look?

It *has* to have a version entry.

It is possible to not have a version entry if they have never upgraded and installed with < 1.7. See http://trac.elgg.org/ticket/1432

Okay, so I assume jennine installed 1.6 and never upgrade to 1.6.1. Can you confirm that, jennine? If so try upgrading to 1.6.1 first and then report back on whether that worked.

Jennine -> tiene una base de datos que es parcial y parcial 1.6.1 1.7.1, pero el código es 100% Elgg 1.7.1 - no puede trabajar. Por favor - restaurar su base de datos y volver a Elgg 1.6.1 código ;-)

Hi there, I'm sorry it took so long to get back...but yes... it was the server timeout issue.
I had the server timeout extended to see if the upgrade worked. Then went back and did a fresh reinstall of 1.7.1 and it worked.
We're now on the new upgrade, now comes all the fixes with the plugins.

Great to hear! Thanks for reporting back. I believe most plugins have been updated to work with 1.7.
