Restricting mail

Hi
I was hoping someone could give me an answer to the following question. I was looking through all the settings in elgg and could not find something to costomize how mail is send. How can i make that only friends can send mail to each other. At the moment anyone can send mail to anyone, even when not friends. Is there a way to customize this area? Please anyone that know of a way and that could help as this is a concern for my site setup.

I am not having that issue but I am running into a problem with people not getting their activate email once they register. Is there a way to speed this up or a different way for them to register ?
@mscobia what you mean you don't have that issue? That is the default for anyone to send mail to anyone. Except if you installed a plugin for it. As for the mail i doubt there is a way to speed it up. But there is a way to bypass the register by e-mail verification. Just do a search for that pugin.
