Did you run the upgrade script?
Elgg 1.7 uses a much better user directory structure and part of the upgrade is to move all the files into this new structure.
I ran the upgrade when I updated the site but just incase I ran it agen and nothing changed
Permissions issue on the files? Maybe Elgg wasn't able to move them to the new directory structure. The old directories are all single letters and the new directories use the creation date of the user (/2009/11/...)
I do see the folders on the server but they don't contain any images
all the folders (year/month/...) have a 755 permissions
I gess I need a script to do the job...
Cash, thanks for tring to help
But I moved some of the images manually and they still did not apper
I also played with the chace but that did not change anything either
The same probblem here, trying to upgrade from 1.6.1 to 1.7.6 and the avatars not apears...
i don t know how to run upgrade script, i just call the page and nothing happens for several minutes, just blank page with ajax loading, should i wait more???
it is pretty easy to upgrade here is the link you just modify it for your url and directory. yourdomain.com/where_you_put_elgg/upgrade.php
it is easy indeed, but i don t want my users to lost avatars pictures. I was wrong i checked and i have already 1.7.6, they desapear when i update to 1.7.6
How should i set the permisions, i don t know where does elgg store those images...
This can help you : http://docs.elgg.org/wiki/Upgrading_Elgg
If you want to know where elgg stores its files, just go to the site administration and you can see the data directory path.
Oh that s helpfull, it s a shame not all the steps from this instruction are written in UPGRADE.txt file... confusing...
