Has anyone ever come across an elgg desktop client, or even discussion of the possibilities of one?
If not, then would it be something that could interest you, from both an admin and end-user point of view?
I am a software developer by trade and was considering looking into this but want to know what features people would want (if any).
Thanks

i would love to see you make something like tweetdeck but for elgg lol
So purely for posting to the wire or for all things?
For anyone that is interested in this project and the development of an elgg desktop client please go to http://www.socialadmin.co.cc/pg/groups/40/elgg-desktop-client-development/
Which desktop do you use? I am using Ubuntu, it may be possible to build an open source plugin for gwibber:
https://launchpad.net/gwibber
I have Windows and Ubuntu.
I am seriously considering going the Air route to have the highest chance of OS compatibility.
@social admin what about using dotnet ???
@social
not just for the wire posting but also navigating through the site. kinda like a web browser but for your own specific elgg site
@Georges I have also considered .net because that is where my roots lie. I may go with a .net initially and then port it over onto Air. I am just hesitant to produce something that half of the elgg community can't benefit from because they are on a Mac...
@Cim What would you see as being the benefit of this?
.net run on mac as far as i know about mono :)
not just the wire post ?? sure it should read the rss of the site to see if there is something of interest :)
