Hello implementation of event calendar raise error for year 1970 but when I display Object data but $event->start_date has not value. Have you any idea where can be a problem?

Hello implementation of event calendar raise error for year 1970 but when I display Object data but $event->start_date has not value. Have you any idea where can be a problem?
I am having a similar problem with Profile Manager by Jeroen where the date picker for a DOB field is showing -1 day to the entry if the DOB entered is before 1/1/1970.
Any suggestions for a fix for this?
@mkdberry - didya now that mysql stores internally as the number of seconds elapsed since midnight Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) of January 1, 1970 ? n u r having probls w/ dates b4 1970 !!
